Miss Dixie Darlin

Hello everyone! I am Dixie Darlin, here to share my love of random things with all of you! I am currently obsessed with the Disney film "Wreck-It Ralph" (especially Turbo) and Adventure Time, but I like a bunch of different things. I love to write, not much of a drawer but I appreciate artistic creativity!

I noticed that the police truck is like one of those cake/ice cream/something related to that-boxes with flaps*) that you have to fold correctly in order to close the box
and one part of me headcanons that they would have a remote to open/close it, but a bigger part of me headcanons that it’s operated by hand, and I imagine Wynnchel and Duncan having a hard time folding them correctly like “No not that one, that has to be above this one.” “Wrong, this one definitely comes before that one”
*) I have no idea if flaps is the right word. It probably isn’t.

Will: Carlton, carlton, I understand that you’re scared, man, but the world can be a scary place. Just got to learn to deal with it.

Carlton: Yeah, well, I found my way.

Will: That’s not you, man. that’s them.

^ i remember this episode i cried while watching this

Me too. 😢

This episode had me in tears, man. Like, you really knew the characters were growing from this. I loved how it was comedy and still touched on issues that affected Black youth. We need more shows like this on television.

You gotta think, the whole concept of this show was Will growing up in a bad neighborhood where shit like this happened all the time, and Carlton grew up in a life of privilege and sheltered from this kind of life, and I think Will was crying because he came so close to seeing Carlton go down the wrong path and end up like some of his friends back in Philly.

Damnit, y’all… Damn.

But ya’ll be like Will can’t act.

I discovered “Ringing Bell” (aka: “Chirin’s Bell” or “Chirin No Suzu”)
and I watched it. Probably not the best film to watch after going through a tough time of my own.

After the first viewing, the conclusion left me depressed. At first I was a bit annoyed with the beginning as that little sheep is a pain in the ass. It’s super juvenile, like on a preschool level.

But after a horrendous tragedy leaves Chirin emotionally scarred the film drops its childish tone and metamorphoses into a very dark tale. It’s like starting off watching “The Berenstein Bears” before popping in “Faces of Death.” Sucker-punch brutal tone shift.

What also makes this movie eerily chilling is that it can be seen as a cautionary tale on the consequences of living life fueled by hate and ultimately alienating family and friends. And this movie also speaks the truth— the world isn’t all sunshine and sparkles and those who try to live in such a world are setting themselves up for a painfully brutal reality check. On the other hand, to completely embrace pain, suffering, etc. in such an ugly world can lead to its own set of dire consequences.

Film clip…Chirin trains with the Wolf.

Clip

This is a great movie, guys, the first ten minutes are really slow, but after that it really hits you in the feels and it never stops. Real deep psychological stuff.  I recommend the original Japanese audio with English subtitles as opposed to the English dub. TRUST ME ON THIS.

Part 1 if anyone is interested. Prepare for some Nightmare Fuel.
